Spearheaded the development of a SaaS solution from architecture to implementation to post-launch operations. To do this, led a team of 10 other engineers to go from a manual prototype to a fully automated productionized system in less than 5 months. During this time, worked with external teams as we changed business models from an upfront to an on-demand model and built infrastructure required for tracking their usage.Post launch of the MVP, my focus has been on architecting new features, as well as identifying operational issues and how to keep developer / on-call quality of life high (as well as customer satisfaction) through the continued rapid expansion of the new service. I also am responsible for developing long term plans for the technical side of the service and ensuring that new features move us in a direction to solve larger problems.

Worked on 3 different teams in a semi-rotation, providing assistance where needed.Primarily worked on a cloud-based service platform that was backed by a very large kubernetes cluster with strong security guarantees. Re-envisioned the platform to allow for infrastructure-as-code, as well as support for multiple regions. Identified multiple scaling issues and designed / implemented fixes, allowing for a two orders of magnitude growth in customer acquisition. Also designed a downward API that was used by internal service teams to programmatically manage their services inside of my team's platform.Took a manual process for deploying our public demo that took 2-3 weeks and rebuilt it from the ground up to allow for new versions to be published within hours. This also moved it to an infrastructure-as-code paradigm, allowing for repeatability and easy changes via configuration management tools created for the project.Assisted our machine learning team as a software engineering resource, finding bottlenecks that greatly saved developer time and improved the agility of the team. This enabled a large company-wide initiative to be able to meet ambitious development goals.Heavily participated in growing the human side of the teams / company as well, from interviewing to mentoring new employees for all teams.

Worked on multiple teams as a floating resource, allocating time based on current business priorities. As part of this, built several data pipeline components for our new machine learning service and helped launch and support it.Continued work on marquee customer escalations, as well resources to grow our support team's knowledge and tools to debug issues. Built solutions for our test team to automate the deployment of system topologies, allowing for the easy onboarding of contract testers to augment our local team.

Primarily starting out as ExtraHop's only escalations engineer, I acquired a wide range of responsibilities throughout this role. First and foremost, I was responsible for determining root cause of customer issues and either fixing them outright, or to facilitate another engineer to do so. To support this effort, I built low-level automation libraries that enabled the rapid deployment and testing of ExtraHop appliances, as well as a suite of tools that would parse customer diagnostics packs to provide metrics and helpful information for troubleshooting. This framework grew into a critical tool for internal teams and is still used heavily to this day.
