Eric S. Barr has over fifteen years of experience in the intellectual property field, practicing in all areas of patent law with an emphasis on preparing and prosecuting patent applications; counseling clients on intellectual property matters; preparing validity, infringement, and freedom to operate opinions; and representing clients before federal district courts and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board on patent litigation matters.Eric has experience in a wide array of computer and software-oriented technologies as well as various electrical and mechanical arts, including, but not limited to: software and database-driven web applications, network and internet technologies, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, electronic markets, computing hardware, printers, hard disk drives, display technology, telecommunications, controllers, digital circuits, semiconductors, and automotive technology.Eric’s practice includes working with clients to implement best practices for patent portfolio management and to understand emerging issues in U.S. patent law. Eric has counseled a Fortune 500 company on intellectual property integration issues following the company’s acquisition of another major technology company, including compliance with intellectual property requirements imposed by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and the European Commission.
