Director

Current

Frsico, Tx

Rose International provides Staffing and Solutions to Fortune 500 companies and government agencies nationwide. I oversee and am responsible for Sales & Delivery of staffing services to Rose clients in the US Southern Region and select national Fortune 100 clients.

Oct 2017 - Present

Program Director - Enabling Delivery & Global Excellence (Edge)

Plano, Tx

HPE Enterprise Services merges with CSC to create DXC. EDGE, the Program I helped start and have been running for ~8 years, across 3 different companies, is named go-forward in DXC. EDGE enables and promotes standard processes, tools, accelerators to the Applications Services Delivery organization of ~40,000 people worldwide. EDGE covers all roles (PM, Test, Develop, etc.) and domains (Agile, DevOps, SAP, Data and Analytics, etc.). In addition to standards, EDGE provides a knowledge base, extra support for core tools, automations to make the standards easy to consume, community support and account messaging. EDGE drives quantifiable business benefits, including productivity, speed, lower risk, automation, and ability to move work around the globe successfully. The last review by the financial organization certified annual benefits of $74M+, a return of more than 28x of the cost. Additionally, EDGE also delivers a $67M+ annual revenue risk reduction to the business unit. The current focus is on rationalizing the assets coming from each company and packaging them for easier use. I oversee all aspects of EDGE; working through a wide global network of stakeholders, aligning direction, encouraging the right behaviors, investments and decisions that drive Application Service delivery success. I oversee staff in the United States, Canada, India, Philippines, China, Argentina, Brazil and others.

Apr 2017 - Oct 2017

Program Director - Enabling Delivery & Global Excellence (Edge)

Plano, Tx

HPE spins off of HP in 2015. EDGE works to create additional value, expanding services and covering more areas while actually reducing costs. EDGE moves to an almost purely off-shore support model and moves from Service Desk to self-support. EDGE Automation Launch Pad (ALP) is introduced, making it easier for the field to find and consume EDGE standards. 5,000+ projects used ALP in the initial 2 years, saving 30,000+ days in start-up time. In May 2016, HPE announces plans to spin-off my business unit, Enterprise Services, and merge with CSC. EDGE plays key roles in Day-1 preparation (splitting systems, testing, communication, migrations, user care, etc.), making sure everything works on the first day of the combined company. EDGE also plays a key role in Day-2 preparation, the rationalization, integrations and planning for the new company.

Nov 2015 - Mar 2017

Manager -> Program Director - Enabling Global Delivery & Excellence (Edge)

Hp

Plano, Tx

HP acquires EDS. The Agile Application Architecture (A3) Program I oversaw is halted (see below job entry). I am a key voice and player in launching EDGE (Enabling Delivery and Global Excellence). I started as the EDGE Engineering leader and later became the EDGE Director. EDGE borrows heavily from the A3 Program and brings together support, engineering and process groups. This single team now has a shared goal of driving greater consistency and efficiency across our ~35,000 people delivering application services to our clients globally. EDGE not only survives the HP merger and rationalization, it actually thrives and becomes a key success story out of those early days. EDGE has been recognized by our delivery teams, our clients and industry analysts over the years.

Aug 2008 - Oct 2015

Program Director - Agile Application Architecture

Plano, Tx

The new CEO, Michael H. Jordan, instituted significant changes to the organization structure of EDS. I took on a role within the newly formed Portfolio organization and became responsible for engineering, architecture and tooling standards used by 35,000+ application services delivery personnel in the field. I designed and led the strategic, multi-year Agile Applications Architecture (A3) Program. I directly oversaw a world-wide team of up to 150 people, creating standards and leveraged solutions in key areas like SOA, Build, Run, Integration, and Knowledge Management. Material from A3 is still being used by our delivery orgs and sales pursuits through 2017.

Sep 2004 - Aug 2008

Principle Consultant -> Portfolio Management Director

Plano, Tx

I switched from managing technical delivery teams to focus on the business side. This was an exciting time as it was the early internet days; opportunities and demand were exploding. EDS needed to grow in this critical area and I wanted to be a key player in driving our growth. I helped develop, and ultimately led, the EDS eCommerce, Portals and Content Management Offerings. I managed expert teams assisting sales pursuits and providing solutioning support.

Jun 2000 - Aug 2004

Technical Delivery Team Manager -> Technical Delivery Organization Manager

Plano, Tx

I moved from a client account in Wisconsin to take advantage of opportunities at EDS headquarters in Texas. Upon arrival, I led and managed multiple technical teams in support of health care clients (BCBSUW, NASCO, cross-client team for online development). Next, I assumed leadership of a Client-Server team and delivered solutions to the US Army, Johnson & Johnson and ITT Hartford. Finally, I joined EDS’ E*Solutions organization focused on newer technologies, leading Java and Microsoft development teams (~60 people).

Aug 1994 - May 2000

System Engineer Supervisor -> Business Relations Manager

Milwaukee, Wi

I left the leveraged EDS Technical Center in Pennsylvania and returned to Wisconsin to rejoin my initial client account, Blue Cross & Blue Shield United of Wisconsin (BCBSUW). I took on my first formal leadership positions, leading the Business Analyst teams for Membership and Underwriting & Actuarial. I had extensive and varied direct client interaction and responsibilities. I established strong relationships and reputation. I was promoted to Business Relations Manager and backed up Account executives.

Dec 1989 - Aug 1994

Systems Engineer

Plano, Tx And Camp Hill, Pa

After completing my Business Analyst role with BCBSUW, I focused on building my technical skills. The first stop was an EDS proprietary, intense 10-week technical boot camp in Texas. On average, 33% of all attendees failed the boot camp and were separated from the company. I performed at the top of my class and was asked to stay on as assistant instructor for the next group coming in. I ended up relocating to the EDS leveraged technical center in Pennsylvania. There I developed systems and provided technical support for major Health Care clients (BCBSUW, BCBSNJ, MetLife). Technologies included COBOL, Assembler, VSAM, JCL, etc.. Performed on-call, release planning, quality checks, etc.. I was recognized by team and client for superior performance.

Dec 1987 - Dec 1989

Business Analyst

Milwaukee, Wi

Due to my MIS degree and grades at UW-Milwaukee, EDS reached out and actively recruited me. I joined the EDS account supporting BCBS United of Wisconsin. I started my career as a Business Analyst and had direct client interaction and deliverables. Common activities included, requirements, testing, documentation, problem solving, and on call. Towards the end of my time, I served the lead Business Analyst in the creation and launch of a new HMO product.
