Currently, I am a volunteer patient navigator in the UNC cancer center, where I help new cancer patients with non-medical aspects of their care. In addition, I am a docent and tour guide at the Beaufort, NC, Historic Site, where I concentrate on the Old Burying Ground, Leffers Cottage, and Old Jail. Recently I taught general chemistry and organic chemistry at NC State. I have 34 years of drug discovery R&D experience, including the discovery of the drugs sultamicillin and gantacurium. I utilized this experience to enrich the content of general and organic chemistry courses.
