Utilize clear, concise and accurate three part communication while switching or issuing directives to field personnel, other utilities and generation facilities.- Utilize SCADA to monitor and control transmission and substation facilities to ensure transmission line and transformer loading are within ratings.- Ensure system reliability by maintaining/restoring acceptable generator unit reactive capacity, line loading, bus voltages, transformer load tap changes, switch capacitors/reactors and operate transmission breakers/switches. - Monitor and respond to station alarms and grid element voltage/limit alarms.- Write/check/issue switching orfers for ransmission and substation facilities consistent with Transmission Safety Handbook to ensure safety of field personnel, under both normal and emergency conditions.- Restore service (through SCADA and dispatch of field personnel) to transmission and substation facilities to reduce customer outage time and restore system integrity.- Log all planned and unplanned events in daily desk log, ERCOT outage scheduler and TIRS (Transmission interruption Reporting System) to provide current system status and update historical database.- Ensure One-line Transmission Management System (or EMS) is up to date and accurately reflects system status at all times.- Coordinate/direct black start restoration activities between Transmission, Distribution, Generation and ERCOT.
