I never planned to be a Facility Manager. In fact, I didn't even know what facility management was when I applied for a local IFMA scholarship. However, when I received the call congratulating me as the recipient of that much-appreciated scholarship, it set me on a beautiful and rewarding professional path.Over the past 15 years, I have studied and managed facilities both domestically and internationally. My experience spans commercial, public, residential, and historic properties. I have led culturally diverse teams, managed budgets, contracts, and projects, overseen design and engineering, operated as a site safety officer and inspector, and provided exceptional customer service.Recently, I had the opportunity to develop and lead a new team focused on business analytics, maintenance planning, life cycle project planning, maintenance and data standards, and process improvement to support our organization's asset management objectives. This role has given me an incredible perspective on how to develop a support structure for other facility management teams. I have also collaborated with professionals and built consensus to define and implement standards and guidelines that impact the entire organization.My true passion lies in managing and developing teams. I love teaching, coaching, supporting, and watching team members grow and develop both personally and professionally.I hold a Top Secret security clearance and serve as a Contracting Officer (up to $250k) and a Contracting Officer’s Representative for the federal government.
