My job as a Clinical Team Lead is to provide advanced disaster social services work, often as a part of a two person Team. Work initially involves outreach as necessary to individuals, families, businesses, local government and other organizations. Work transitions to providing short term (6) crisis counseling sessions with disaster survivors in their home or other location of choice. Interventions will include establishing rapport, ongoing emotional support, building or reinforcing coping skills and referral to other organizations including formal mental health/substance abuse. The position may be required to present on the crisis-counseling program to organizations, schools, etc.; and may supervise the work of others. Requires local travel, flexible hours vary including week-ends and knowledge of community resources.

As an Intake Counselor my duties are to work with clients with psychiatric issues and behavioral problems such as substance abuse and mental health. Counseling clients, families, facilities, and providers assist with members with their mental health and substance abuse issue’s. It is also my job to gather information that can be used by other healthcare personnel.
