Mr. Caver is an Information Technology consultant by trade with the majority of his career spent supporting the Department of Defense. He has also supported projects at Duke University and Syracuse University. With over 20 years of IT experience in both government and private industry environments, Mr. Caver’s career has traversed the entire software systems lifecycle process with direct experience in systems analysis and design, development and implementation, customer support, systems administration and systems integration, operations and sustainment, and project management. Mr. Caver has worked in diversely sized environments ranging from single departments to enterprise-level, multi-national environments. His experience comes mostly from contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense and private industry experience at Duke University Medical Center’s clinical research institute (DCRI). Mr. Caver has extensive experience in backup and recovery, performance tuning, capacity planning, daily maintenance and troubleshooting, 24X7 high availability, long-range system planning, and specifically Oracle technology. Mr. Caver has been a trusted liaison and sounding board for executive management and high-ranking military officials regarding planning, risks, risks mitigation, etc. Mr. Caver is also an asset in the business development arena and has proven success in the creation of new business opportunities. Mr. Caver has extensive experience supporting the Air Force Common Computing Environment (AFCCE), now Cloud One, and also the Air Force Capabilities Integration Environment (CIE). This is an Agile DevSecOps environment guided by SCRUM and using the Jenkins and Atlassian tool suite (GitHub, Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence, etc.). Current USAF programs associated with the CS-ERP initiative include MROi, AFIPPS, and potentially DEAMS. Technology and duties include: Backup/Recovery and High Availability using Veritas NetBackup, RMAN, ZFS snapshot. Installation, integration and maintenance of the Oracle Apex service. Integration and maintenance of Oracle SOA. General patching of various Oracle and Solaris products. JIRA Service Desk, Confluence, and Atlassian tools for agile development. Develop and maintain documentation required for CDRL delivery. Led and documented the effort to recommend and procure HP ALM as the enterprise offered test tool suite.o This effort included testing and pricing multiple test tool offerings to include HP ALM, Oracle OATS, and others.o AFIPPS, DEAMS, MROi and other HNII applications along with the 42nd Test Squadron were queried and provided information to help guide this decision. Created the Version Description Document (VDD) per government customer requirements (DID), and continued to maintain and update the VDD which provides for the configuration management of all products either created/deployed by the systems integrator or made available by DISA. Migration of on-premise oracle databases to Amazon (AWS).o Created RDS databases in AWS. o Imported database dump files to the new target cloud database.o Created scripts to complete these steps using Ansible. -

He was responsible for backup and recovery, implementation of new technologies, upgrades, product comparisons, documentation, cloning of 11i Apps database and application tiers, and the implementation of Oracle’s Governance, Risk and Compliance solution (GRC). He is responsible for creating/editing installation, maintenance, and testing documents. He has to rely on working knowledge of Linux, Unix, Air Force security layers, Concurrent Managers, Workflow implementation, data masking, etc. There is also a working knowledge of storage systems and backup systems (NetBackup) required to help troubleshoot performance issues in this role. The current development environment has more than twenty separate EBS and OBIEE environments with a current database size of 5TB per each environment. DEAMS is a Major Automated Information System that uses commercial off-the-shelf Enterprise Resource Planning software to provide accounting and management services. -

He was the team lead of a three-member team that rotates on-call nightly support daily. He was responsible for scheduling when patches will be deployed, determining required outage time for patches, coordinating the outage time between at least three organizations to include Defense Information Systems Agency, DEAMS government leads, and the Global Combat Support Systems-AF production support team. Technical products utilized and supported during this engagement included: Oracle eBusiness Suite, Oracle Discoverer, Oracle BPEL, Oracle RMAN, Oracle RAC, Oracle ASM, Oracle 10gAS, Oracle OIM LDAP, Mercury ITG, HP PPM, Akamai Edge Servers, Tivoli Access Manager security layer, and others. Mr. Caver was lauded by members of GCSS-AF government and DEAMS government team for his valuable support of the DEAMS application and willingness to go the extra mile. This praise came from GS-15 and General Officer level. Eric was awarded a commendation coin from the Senior Program Manager of the DEAMS Air Force client. Eric’s personal input was regularly sought from the DEAMS program manager and project management team, as a trusting relationship was built with these government representatives. Prior to his support of the DEAMS application, Eric spent two years supporting the integration and deployment of (FIRST Budget Formulation) to the GCSS-AF SOA based framework. -
