Working alongside Dr. Kristen Curran to study the influence of circadian genes on the metabolic activity and gene expression of Xenopus laevis embryos. Specific areas of research include the impacts of the circadian gene rev-erbα on nocturnin expression and reducing potential during embryonic dorsal mesoderm induction.

I worked as part of the Innovation and Product Development team to participate in analytical testing, food testing, R&D project design, trial management, and food sensory testing.

-Performed patent pre-testing using Optos, OCT, auto-refraction, meibography, and visual field equipment-Assisted at the front desk with check in and check out procedures-Answered scheduling, optical, and triage calls-Performed glasses adjustments for patients-Performed patient measurements for glasses and assisted opticians with glasses cleaning -Took visual acuities on patients-Reported medical history and pre-testing results to the optometrists -Uploaded medical orders and scanned invoices-Organized and ordered contact lenses and glasses-Maintained a clean, organized, and professional environment

ULEAD is 3-day mentor and leadership program designed for incoming UW-Whitewater freshmen and transfer students. As a ULEADer, I helped design small and large-group activities, a campus tour, and helped assist the program directors throughout the week. I co-managed and facilitated a group of over 100 incoming UW-Whitewater students through planned events, leadership talks, and a ULEAD graduation ceremony. Events included guest speakers from the University, the campus tour, a trash-pickup community service activity, and other small group ice-breaker activities. I helped offer advice, inspiration, and tips on how to be successful as a UW-Whitewater Warhawk.
