I assisted the transport department of Akershus fylkeskommune (Akershus County) with collecting and organizing data on park & ride facilities in the Oslo region. This involved determining the park & ride capacity, how many cars and bikes there were at the facility, and recording license plates of each car to determine the location of the park & ride user. After organizing this data on Microsoft Excel I sent it to colleagues for review. This was used to determine where there may be capacity issues at park & ride facilities and how to mitigate them such as implementing a parking fee, expanding the facility, or providing local transit to the park & ride for onward connections on the T-Bane (Metro), bus, or ferry to central Oslo.
