As a member of the Enterprise Architecture team I vetted potential vendors/partners to drive Digital Transformation at Avaya most specifically working with a planned move from SAP ECC to SAP S4HANA. Established first generation master data governance at Avaya with primary goals of data simplification, cleansing, & harmonization. Worked as a member of small Master Data team and vendors to dramatically reduce the overall data footprint at Avaya while bringing approximately 400 workflows based on business rules to help get the data clean and keep it clean (pivotal to Digital Transformation). Majority of workflows automated and generate error reporting to be approved by stakeholders across all lines of business for Avaya. Close to standing up SAP MDG as a step toward S4HANA when project was paused.

Collaborated to build out a scaled Agile framework at Avaya, known as the Avaya Innovation Model (AIM). As a member of a small team of Agile coaches we introduced, educated, and helped implement the model with all Avaya Services based project teams (business, management, development, test). I was responsible for approximately twelve teams in Services and then transitioned to start introducing model to IT. Role involved continuous evolving of model, teaching workshops for large groups, applying AIM to their specific needs, and continued regular support of their transition to Agile until the team achieved mastery.

Managed three teams including off shore resources. Refined portfolio process supporting multiple stakeholders. Served as primary interface for overall IT budget with finance department. Served as primary data scientist for all IT readouts, including quarterly readouts to CEO and CFO, monthly Board updates, and weekly operational metrics. Designed process for development work tracking and relied on heavily by security department, project managers, and operational management for utilization metrics and true status of initiatives. Drove refactoring legacy applications into a modern simplified portfolio while reducing technical debt and increasing automation.

Provided enterprise architecture, managed all software and data development, and drove mixed agile methodologies for the world leading virtual customer management pioneer.

As Development Competency Lead worked with small focused leadership team defining, driving and refining process for a global development organization. Focused on a blend of Lean software methodology with Scrum and Kanban development processes. Simultaneously engineered processes alongside multiple lines of business to drive technical portfolio advancement using new agile methodologies over traditional waterfall approaches. Mobilized and continuously redistributed 100+ developers and test engineers to satisfy business requirements from 6 major stakeholders, providing on average a 7 to 1 return on investment in cost savings. Executed methodologies and processes led to budget savings of over 18 million within 2.5 fiscal years. Served as Architecture Competency Lead, covering enterprise, system and application architecture for portfolio consisting of 80+ tools. Continually rationalized portfolio toward simplicity, pattern replication, common frameworks and increased performance. As Development Manager led application developers, database administrators, engineers, and testers across multiple geographies building internal and customer facing tools and applications for Avaya Global Services. Actively managing relationships with global customers and outsourcing vendors. Trained dotNet developers, scrum masters, and system engineers in constantly evolving development methodologies and organizational process. Built Avaya’s first development team in Hungary from ground up. Implemented first in industry Operations Intelligence Suite to provide customers and business partners unheard-of visibility into their product inventory, lifecycle, ticketing, and network quality. Implemented comprehensive Business Intelligence solution centered on the customer. Primary focus on client/server applications and web presence utilizing progressive presentation technologies.

As a Developer and technologist, designed, built, deployed, and supported tools and applications for Avaya Global Services. Architected and developed a project management tool, Hydra, that enabled resourcing, qualitative and quantitative assessments,action planning,exhaustive tracking of changes, and notifications. This served as primary tool for all escalation management in Avaya for 4+ years.Analyzed business process in multiple areas and identified areas needing technology support. Expanded development resources internationally by building 28 member development team in India within a two month span.Providedconsultationonotherdevelopmentorganizationsaswellasportfolios. With a small team, investigated, exercised due diligence, and refactored a global software & tools development organization of 300+ individuals. Successfully transformed this organization to highlight profitability while maintaining smaller footprint. Simultaneous to reorganizing Avaya service’s primary R&D organization above, led multiple development teams to align and integrate with expansive Siebel rollout. This included refactoring and/or developing 20+ tools against demanding schedules and alongside several vendors.

Worked primarily as a lead developer for a small group designed to handle critical escalations internally and externally. Designed and developed back office applications to manage services operations, handle customer facing issues, and implement diagnostic methodology across any problem.

Involved in a number of large contracts related to state government solutions. During all engagements I was engaged in customer conversations, planning, designing, scheduling, coding, testing and deploying a mix of different solutions.Served as the lead developer and database administrator on contract with Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) for their online Unemployment Insurance Benefits presence. This included requirements gathering, design, code, enhancements, production deployment, defect resolution and support. Nationally, this was only the second online implementation of an unemployment benefits website. We engineered a solution where every element of the public web application was stored within back end database and exposed using XML/XSL T .As a lead developer working with Avenade, Accenture, Unisys implemented Siebel solution to manage all elements of their (CDLE) business including unemployment, business taxation, and operations. My technical focus was in a number of areas including data access components, business layer logic, presentation elements, web applications and stored procedures. In addition, I was used as key liaison between business analysts and client(s) to drive understanding of UML and model-driven development.As project manager and lead developer with the Wyoming Secretary of State's office, built only the second real time election results infrastructure in the US. This included back-end management system to set up elections, manage incoming results from remote locations, aggregation and analysis of data, and entire online public facing presence. I managed every element of the project alongside one other individual (DBA) from inception to production including executive communications and vendor relations.
