As lead Armorer my duties include overseeing the armorers complete day to day tasks, training new armorers to standards, assisting in day to day operations, maintaining accountability of sensitive items and equipment, organizing and establishing a maintenance schedule for all equipment, and ensuring the arms room is upto standard per government and company policies.

Member of the Special Security Team for four years. I supervised inmate movements, conducted searches of both inmates and staff members to intercept contraband. I conducted transports for court and medical appointments. Conducted cell extraction movements, mobile restraint chair placements and bed placements. Responded to a riot at another prison in the state of Kansas. Participated in security audits at other correctional facilities. Conducted mass searches of our prison and others, sometimes with outside law enforcement agencies. I was the part time armorer, a firearms instructor, certified by Axon as a taser instructor and a member of the sharp shooter team. My daily tasks were processing in staff members, supervising mass movements of inmates, conducting cell searches, pat downs or strip searches for contraband. Transporting inmates off the prison grounds for medical appointments, court appointments, or transfers to other correctional facilities. UA testing of inmates to track the usage of drugs. Overwatch of civilian and inmate visitation time on the weekends. Other tasks included participating in training, or training new staff, S.O.R.T. members or Specical Security Team members.
