I am a graduate of Lafayette College with a B.A. in English and music.I have spent the last two years as an intern and/or contributing writer for a number of music-oriented magazines, newspapers, and websites. During this time, I have become accustomed to conducting in-person and on-the-phone interviews with musicians, producers, and music scene luminaries in order to produce informative and entertaining features and reviews.Artists I have interviewed for features include No Age, Thrice, Steve Ignorant (of Crass), Mike Watt (of Minutemen and The Stooges), Mission of Burma, Lemuria, and many others.Additionally, much of the writing I did throughout college was of a variety and voice that allowed for displays of creativity and professionalism in equal proportion, including a senior project that traced the punk ethos from its inception in the mid-1970s through its effects on various American subcultures in the ‘80s and ‘90s and culmination in our current understanding of the meaning (or lack thereof) of the word “indie.”I am currently looking for employment as a copywriter and/or journalist--freelance or full-time. I am also interested in any other job opportunities that involve writing, editing, and creative thinking.Specialties: Writing, editing, pop culture analysis and critique, music theory and history, interviewing, fact-checking, research, social media, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Dewey Decimal and Library of Congress systems of library classification, strong interpersonal skills, customer satisfaction.
