HR is what I do, what I went to school for and what I have always done. Before moving back USA I’ve worked as an HR consultant and recruiter throughout the Central & South America (Panama, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Ecuador, and Chile). Since moving back to I’ve progressed in my HR career. I started as a recruiter, then moved into HR generalist positions and ultimately into leadership roles. Like many others in HR, recruiting seems to be taking more and more of our time. However, now the focus is on Recruiting AND Retention, its more than recruiting for the sake of backfilling the role. There is now a bigger emphasis on the candidates’ soft skills and doing our best in predicting if candidate is a good fit for our culture, our day to day challenges and rewards. Not sure if this is true for everyone but seems to be where my conversations end up when networking.When not HR-ing I love to climb. Climbing is my yoga, my family time with my kids, it is also my me-time and my workout. Not that I’m good at it, I just love climbing
