I provided data analysis and insights to help inform best practice and financial aid policy recommendations for colleges and universities. Roles included managing, validating, and analyzing client data, presenting and interpreting results to colleagues and clients, producing graphical summaries tailored to client needs, and constructing and demonstrating complex, statistically-based simulations for purposes of modeling new financial aid policies and their associated enrollment and revenue outcomes.

I worked as a data analyst on a number of annual, statewide tobacco cessation evaluation reports, and official recommendations were made based on my results. I also took the lead in learning and implementing a new methodology from the literature called concept mapping, involving multidimensional scaling and cluster analysis. I presented results from this analysis directly to clients at Florida State University. Over the course of my employment, I was credited as a co-author for technical contributions to a paper on measuring quit rates, presented to the North American Quitline Consortium (NAQC) in 2015. Since this is a relatively small firm, I developed several key non-statistical skills, including map-making in ArcGIS and qualitative analysis, for a variety of different projects.I acquired a great deal of experience with maintaining and processing large databases, transforming and formatting data, and merging and appending large data sets.

I was the primary course instructor for undergraduate-level statistics courses, such as Data Analysis and Intro to Probability and Statistics.These courses covered topics such as regression, ANOVA, graphics, and statistical programming in R.Prior to becoming a primary course instructor, I worked as a teaching assistant for a graduate-level course on regression and computing.I received consistently good instructor reviews from my students, while balancing teaching responsibilities with graduate school coursework of my own.
