I have been in the construction industry since 1989. I feel I have seen the worst of times and still look forward to seeing the "best of times" for our struggling industry in the future. I a started in yard cleanup, moved through retail lumber yard customer service to inside sales to contractor sales and account management. While retail lumberyard management in operations never really interested me, I was involved extensively while with Lumbermens and Parr lumber. The operation for LBC and Parr lumber in Klamath Falls is small so I had a greater opportunity to work in retail management and sales management. I went to work as astimator for a new "modular construction" manufacturer called One Build here in Klamath Falls and then after they could no longer support the need for an estimator I began my own take-off estimating business from my home here in Southern Oregon. I currently do material estimating for retail lumber yards and for local contractors.
