Also manage capital projects for Ranges, including product line moves between factories, production line startup and restructuring. , mentoring of sister businesses, and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Responsible for day to day operations of manufacturing and supervisory tasks over both salaried and hourly employees in a union shop. Responsible for P&L level financial analysis, tracking, and reporting. Simultaneously performed all manufacturing and design engineering functions for the division. Oversaw Range business through transformation from -9.3% to 22.9% ROS for a $2.5M benefit to the bottom line.

Lead engineer on green meadow project to build a new factory in Charlotte, NC. This included site selection, architectural development, utility specifications, equipment selection and installation, and factory startup with first round of production workers. Follow on projects included the launch and relocation of a new range product line, the re-layout and implementation of lean manufacturing techniques at our Baltimore facility, and workgroup involvement in the segmentation and restructuring of the Vulcan product lines into focused Business Segments.

Supported the Range and Fabrication departments in daily operations, manufacturing layout, process design, and project management. Included selection and installation of a laser cutting system, relocation and startup of product lines between factories, development and implementation of robotic welding systems, as well as the development of several financial modeling tools and the support of purchasing though vendor evaluations and audits.

Began as an estimating engineer with the Plastics Department responsible for evaluating customer requirements, part and tooling design, cost estimating. Moved into Aviation Engineer, responsible for manufacturing engineering and design engineering with the Aviation Department, directly interfaced with our main customer: Sikorsky. Also worked as a Project Engineer on several plant improvement projects, including the addition of a powder paint line, a new rotational molding machine, and an expansion of the building.
