Field Supervisor
CurrentIn my current position, I go to each jobsite that the Goodman's crews are Installing furniture in, and make sure the installs are being done the way Goodmans expects them to be installed. Make sure consistency is being performed at all times, and on all jobs. Make sure the guys are in uniform and being professional. Assist the Forman & Leads with info they may have overlooked or may not have received from the PM or Ops. I also jump in and install on a regular to Lead by example. This is necessary to gain and maintain the respect of those that don't know me or realize I've been in this business for 37 year's. I stress professionalism and pride in your job, and completing things that you begin, so know one else has to clean up behind you. I see this field of work as creating Art, and teach the younger guys that this is the key to finding longevity in this field of work. I also do many other things on a daily, like Performing site checks for the PM's, which includes meeting with Project Superintendents, G.C's, Contacts, etc., and doing measurements, inspections over the overall job to determine if the site is ready, or if certain things should be noted so the Forman will be fully aware of all things that need to be known. Enough said. For those that took out time to read, thank you.
