Basically this is UPS's logistics department. I was part of a team that oversaw UPS's transportation network in Northern Nevada and the bordering states. I created and executed plans as small as coordinating local pickups to customers needs to as big as planning the trailer movements between Reno and Chicago.Responsibilities also included the creation of plans for the Reno Hub operation (250 hourly employees) to execute based on targeted production/service goals. Support operations through detailed MOPs/action plans that address and fix operational shortcomings utilizing UPS's Standard Practice Manual of Work Measurement. Required extensive use of Microsoft Access and Excel programs used in data mining and manipulation for use in operational issues.

Directed team of 60 package car drivers and vehicle fleet. Implemented systematic strategies to effectively handle commitment of available resources to fulfill labor contract obligations for dispatch and delivery. Designed short and long-term schedules, monthly dispatch plans, route configurations, and contingency plans. Held Quarterly Job Review Discussions (JRD) with drivers to document safety, service, performance, and complaints. Selected accomplishments:Introduced bi-weekly Employee Safety Committees to heighten awareness of safety protocols and sharpen driver skill set, produced dramatic 65% drop in auto accident / injury frequency.Personally trained 355 drivers in UPS standard operating procedures for technical execution of responsibilities, driving protocols, and customer service.
