I am a Payload Uplink Lead (PUL) for the MOXIE instrument onboard the Mars Perseverance Rover. I work on the tactical operations team at JPL to send commands to Mars to make oxygen from the carbon dioxide atmosphere of Mars. I am also a software modeler for the M2020 mission, developing and operating a Matlab-based model of MOXIE to inform flight operations.

Mars Oxygen In-situ resource utilization Experiment (MOXIE): I am currently researching oxygen production on Mars via solid oxide electrolysis. A direct application of my research is the MOXIE unit, which has flown to Mars aboard NASA's Mars 2020 rover and is currently operating. I have been responsible for developing and testing a software model of MOXIE.

Designed and coded a Graphical User Interface for MOXIE operations and simulation. Worked with a team to develop an end-to-end dynamic software model of MOXIE and validated its design against data from JPL’s lab. Received “inventor” status on a successful New Technology Report through JPL for software creation and licensing.

Designed a Brayton heat engine of a fusion-powered spacecraft for a NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts award. Designed a deuterium-oxygen startup system for the spacecraft in low-earth orbit, powered by a combustion cycle.
