I coordinate the construction of retail tenants in malls and lifestyle centers in the SE. My major responsibility is working with our leasing people to assist the leasing rep to get his tenant through the plan stage, approving those plans for the Landlord and supervising construction of the space or building and getting them open in time and under budget so that they can start paying rent! I often am involved with the leasing rep in negotiating his deal with construction costs and assisting him/her with the legal side of the lease as they include construction time and opening dates, rent commencment, etc. From building a full scale mall/lifestyle center with 100+ tenants opening on one grand opening day to building out or remodeling a tired tenant space, I have alot of fun. Being involved in the real estate side and some legal issues with leases makes for a surprisingly different day of work each day. Since we used to manage all of our projects, I enjoyed working with all the tenants in daily mall life and being the connection between local to corporate retailers and the mall manager or landlord rep. At one time, we had 23 centers across the SE and I managed 13 and another TCoordinator managed 10 - lots of work, but a great time! We still manage one mall in Biloxi, MS Edgewater Mall, so I get down there every month. We sold our 2 biggest malls, one in Baton Rouge, The Mall of Louisiana, 2.5 million sf, and sold part of The Riverchase Galleria,3 million sf, in Birmingham, AL to GGP. We just sold our successful lifestyle center The Shoppes at Eastchase in Montgomery, AL and currently have another one we own with GGP in Macon, GA, The Shoppes at River Crossing.

They are with us because their families could not or would not give them the basic love, care, training, direction, etc. each child needs to be a quality adult.

Custom home building on projects from $500,000 to $4 million. Developed two neighborhoods of approximately 40 lots each.

I worked with the GMHBA for a number of years, working my way up the ladder of officers to President. Due to an internal problem, I served almost 2 terms as President. While in the Association, I built three of the Parade of Homes Ideal Home which was a special showcase home built by the Association to expose the public to new latest greatest products in the homebuilding industry. They were a pressure cooker build, but great of fun and I got quite alot back from doing them. Meeting and working with all of the local builders and much interaction with he retail vendor members of the Association was a huge aid to me and I met so many great people via this work.

Led a 100+ homes per year company after working my way up from Superintendant starting back in 1982. Assisted in the Developement of Wynlakes Subdivision in Montgomery, AL - a 1100acre golf course, country club, home sites land deal with principle Jim Wilson, Jr and his company Jim Wilson & Assoc. Bought the company from him in 1990 and ran it as my own till 1996 when he invited me to work in the parent company as a Retail Tenant Construction Coordinator.
