Ironclad introduced high performance, technically advanced, task specific gloves to a one hundred year old, low tech industry - revolutionizing the global hand safety market across a wide variety of industries.Responsible for strategic business planning, department budgeting, cross-functional team management, brand integrity, sales/marketing/customer support and training, technology creation and product technical specifications.

Performed material research, testing, design and development of the first ever middle ear implanted electro-acoustic transducer, which provided natural hearing to severely hearing impaired individuals. Personally responsible for creation of the world’s first hermetically-sealed, biocompatible, implantable acoustic sensor (microphone), previously considered impossible by experts in the field. This fully implanted microphone was capable of achieving high fidelity acoustic response after long term implantation under a 1.0 cm thick cranial skin flap. Drove the research, design, development, testing, and prototype manufacturing of the implantable microphone, which was a combination of novel mechanical, electrical, acoustic, material and manufacturing technologies. Managed internal resources and outsourced suppliers for materials, testing and manufacturing. Managed and performed human cadaver studies, short and long term animal studies and anesthetized implantation, according to GMP guidelines. Performed implant-grade FMEA analyses. Awarded 19 patents worldwide on implantable transducer and microphone technology.

Product development team member, responsible for bringing to market novel cardiac atherectomy catheters in a fast tracked, 510k FDA clearance process. Novel catheter designs included removal of soft and hard plaque from occluded cardiac arteries, and intravascular ultrasound. Focused on rapid product development practices in a strict FDA approval environment. Strong focus on FDA compliant design documentation, Standard Operating Procedures, manufacturing controls, QA/RA analysis, FMEA studies, sterilization procedures, advanced material and testing processes, designed experiments, and accelerated aging tests. Awarded within first month for a $100,000 reduction in manufacturing costs, through device assembly modification.

Began professional career as a team member responsible for designing, building and testing the world’s first long term, fully-implanted, continuous glucose monitoring system for the diabetic healthcare market. Designed to function for years inside the body, alone or connected to an implanted insulin pump, with the goal of creating an artificial pancreas. Responsible for designing in-vitro sensor testing equipment, prototype assembly, training and documentation, and material resource management. Developed technical knowledge in electrochemical sensor design, biochemistry, and complex testing systems. Development group and product designs were spun out as Medical Research Group, Inc. and acquired by Medtronic.
