Eric C. Johnson is a principal of the Victory Group of Companies headquartered in San Pedro, California. The Victory Group is a 100 year old family business (originally founded in the 1920’s) that has evolved and grown with numerous success stories over its 100 year history. The company remains family owned and managed today. Eric has served in various acting leadership roles ranging from developer, investor, general contractor, leasing, real estate manager, brokerage as well as property, development and project manager. Eric is also the CEO of Crail Capital LLC a venture capital investment, financial services, and accounting firm. Prior to becoming CEO, Eric was a third-generation real estate developer general contractor and project manager for large development projects with a focus on “difficult” development projects. Between 1988 and 2009, Eric successfully completed over $500 million of commercial and residential projects, leading new development and re-imagining existing historic buildings in San Pedro, Long Beach and Los Angeles. His vision and vast expertise in real estate, entitlements, construction, and development have helped benefit public and private institutions, clients, tenants, and business partners throughout his career. Eric received his bachelor’s degree in Geology and Chemistry from the University of Colorado in 1982. Eric is active in the Los Angeles philanthropic community as the founding board chairman of the Crail-Johnson Foundation, a private family foundation serving the youth of urban Los Angeles since 1988 with special emphasis on programs supporting education, health care and family self-help. Eric's interests are focused on public school reform, math science education and urban community building. Eric has served for 20 years as a member of the board of trustees and over a decade as the President of the board of the Accelerated School, a charter management organization comprised of 3 public charter schools serving 2,000 students in the South Central Los Angeles community. Eric also serves as the chairman of the board of directors of The Los Angeles Maritime Institute. Founded in 1992, the mission of the Los Angeles Maritime Institute is to provide youth with real-life challenges that develop knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to live healthy, productive lives, through its Topsail Youth Program. The Institute is a public private partnership with the Port of Los Angeles, the LA City Council, The Los Angeles Unified School District and private funders.
