Plans, directs, controls, and oversees all elements of the Education, Training and Distance Learning Programs. Serves as the Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) for On-the-Job Training (OJT) by implementing and managing OJT policy and procedures. Coordinates OJT policy and program changes with installation commanders, supports units, and Major Command training managers. Plans, develops, supervises, and promotes effective utilization of media resources. Manages the military and civilian formal schools programs and Professional Military Education (PME) program. Serves as the DANTES and AFIADL test control officer (TCO). Directs the Montgomery GIBILL, Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) programs. Advises unit commanders and unit education and training managers on policy on ways to improve their OJT programs. Recommends cost effective ways to meet specialty qualifications, skill level upgrade requirements. Periodically inspects unit training programs pertaining to Education and Training for compliance with policies and instructions. Teaches the Air Force Training Course for new and experienced military trainers. Ensures accuracy of the Personnel Data System and performs functional reviews of data reliability. Directly supervise staff of seven military and civilian employees. Establishes schedules and provides technical guidance and assistance to subordinates. Oversees and provides input for budgets and monitors mandays. Responsible for the execution of assigned programs, determines nature, scope and priority of work effort needed to satisfy broad policy guidance. Initiates and directs specific project actions to achieve command objectives. Responsible for gathering requirements, identifying and analyzing issues, and developing recommendations to resolve substantive problems of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations. Appointed to the Air Force Reserve Command inspection team performing base wide unit inspections on multiple training programs.
