Project Manager: 06.2014–03.2015 He started with me in 06.2014 as a project manager. Scope was to remediate the entire portfolio of DePuySynthes within a timeframe of 2,5 years. He was one of 7 PjM building the core team of the remediation. His responsibility was to manage 4 Technical File submissions consisting of teams with up to 6 core team members (DQE, PDE, RA, Medical) per quarter. Each submission was monitored from upper management and needed to be executed in a very efficient and timely manner. This required very detailed team management in a high pressure environment. He was very proactive and calibrated his actions frequently with me. Issues outside of his competency were escalated fast and hence could be resolved quickly. Global SEV Lead (Standard Evaluation Group): 04.2015 – 12.2015 Since Eric showed great promise during his time as a project manager, I promoted him to Global SEV Lead. This involved a local team of 9 direct reports who were working on standard evaluations + a team of PjM in the US + Offshore liaisons in India. His group was responsible to create the standard evaluation assessment for a given product system. This involved a gap assessment, a search of references in our systems and a subsequent closure of the gaps (if existing). The SEV contractor would be the lead PDE for the given product system. As part of their role it was necessary to come to a consensus with DQE, PDE and RA (permanent staff). Eric’s responsibility was not only the team lead but also the creation of work instructions to ensure that the global team works efficiently. These work instructions would be created by him and discussed and agreed with Head of DQE and Head of RA. His masterpiece was a decision flow for the remediation of a given product system. Global Risk Management Lead: 01.2016 – Present Once again the need arose to shuffle the teams in order to achieve the overall program goal. Risk management needed a strong lead role, fortunately I had Eric. I placed him in this new role, now expanding his direct reports to close to 60 people in 3 main locations. Again he took on the challenge and drove the risk management to new higher ground. Due to this ability to drive and coordinate the teams we improved our output from January to December 2016 by 300% in the same time reducing trough put per file by 50%. He truly takes on new challenges and is able to deliver the greatest results. Eric is one of my best people. He not only owns the people skills to have difficult discussions with the leadership team but also the deep engineering & product knowledge to drive these discussion to a meaningful solution in the given time allocated by upper management. Due to the above I can recommend Eric to any position in the medical device field and wish him all the best in the future."
