Chemical Engineer, Process Development
Kingsprt, Tn
During this assignment as Process development Engineer, I supported the Polymers manufacturing facilities by identifying and executing projects to improve safety, capacity, yield, reliability, production throughput and quality. I was in charge of the chemical reactor units, the powder raw material conveying and mixing systems and Heat transfer units, distillation columns, furnaces, sludge systems. The projects spanned from analyzing and designing solutions to pump systems problems, automatic control equipment trouble shooting, controller tuning (DCS), increasing capacity, increasing run times etc. I also worked directly with the distillation train and quality projects. These were large scale continuous processing equipment (multi-million pounds per day). Some of the unit operations supported include: Pump systems, Heat exchangers (gas furnaces, shell and tube exchangers, heat transfer oil systems and air cooled exchangers), powder conveying, slurry mixing, gas/liquid distillation, vacuum systems, high temperature chemical reaction. I also supported the advance control automatic systems including honeywell and PLC systems. Every project where I modified the hydraulic characteristics of the system I also modified the tuning parameters of the automatic controllers to ensure it would continue to operate effectively.
