Solved a chronic wafer breakage issue with the Applied Materials Endura platform by implementing a change in the robot set pins. I also designed a tool to reduce the complexity of the robot pin replacement. Since the change this tool group has not broken a wafer. This solution saved the company an average of 20 broken wafers and 160 hours of tool down time per month. This resulted in company savings of $64,000 in robot repairs.Implemented a wireless camera system mounted on a robot that tracked the wafer movements through all robot stations to diagnose a chronic wafer breakage issue. The camera captured a wafer breaking which helped determine what the failure mode was. This lead to the diagnosis that the thermal conductivity of the end effector was too high to transfer wafers from the furnace. I then developed an end effector made with a low enough thermal conductivity to handle the wafers and enough resiliency to easily maintain. Since the implementation of the end effector, this set of 14 tools has not broken a wafer. The company saved an average of 15 scrapped wafers a month and 60 hours of tool down time a month. The end effector was submitted for a patent and approved by Samsung Austin. Developed a solution to a wafer lift pin issue for a TiN CVD chamber. Prior to the solution, the chambers had handling failures as the lift pins would stick in the up position and cause the robot to mishandle or break the wafer as it was retrieved from the chamber. To solve this issue, I developed a different design for the lift pin and modified how the periodic chemical clean was being run in the chamber. Since these modifications the toolset has not mishandled a wafer. This saved the company an average of 25 scrapped wafers and 300 hours a month of tool down time. As the plants' bottleneck process, these modifications allowed the Metals department to meet the output goals of the company. Trained in Six Sigma.

Installed, maintained and repaired semiconductor equipment at the Samsung Austin facility. I was the technician chosen to install and setup the first AMAT Producer at Samsung. Monitored the safety training for 12 co-workers as the team safety lead. I also taught the annual LOTO and respirator training. I maintained the safety equipment that was used by our team at Samsung. Respected for my technical ability by the Samsung management. Samsung requested that I work on specific issues because of my excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Awarded by my manager for my excellent service to Applied Materials.

Tested and repaired physical vapor deposition equipment before shipment to the customer. I was recognized by Applied materials as Employee of the Month for fully testing an Endura system in four fewer days than expected. This allowed Applied Materials to meet the shipping deadline. Developed a laser tool that saved 4 hours of test time on every tool. The laser was designed to set up the "home" position for four chambers at the same time. I was financially awarded by Applied Materials for the development of this tool. Shipped quality systems, on time, under a demanding schedule. Wrote and edited several procedures for testing new equipment. These procedures were adopted as ISO 9000 standards in the Final Test department's documentation.

Managed the maintenance duties for a 60 unit housing complex. Maintained a budget of $1000/month for maintenance supplies and services. I also managed special repairs that were outside of the allotted monthly budget, which included HVAC and furnace system repairs. Coordinated the maintenance responsibilities for a team of 5 people.
