About Eric Mcelroy
Entered military out of high school at the age of 18 as an aircraft maintainer on the F15E. Spent the next four years as a maintainer and worked up to the "Craftsman" level. Retrained in 2013 to be a Special Missions Aviator on the UH-1N "Huey." Over the past few years I have flown and qualified as an aerial gunner, qualified as a "High-Altitude" flight instructor, and have qualified on all other UH-1 missions and carry a TS level security clearance. I have managed large squadron flying programs with 6,000 hours and over 150 aviators as Operations Superintendent and I currently serve as the Senior Enlisted Leader at the 23d Flying Training Squadron with a combined staff of 350 personnel, graduating 176 rotary-wing aviators annually. I strongly believe that when you put people first, the mission will get done. Ensuring individual success is key to a functioning workplace, and providing access, advocating for support, and mentoring each person is my standard.
