About Eric Mill

As a private practice therapist and co-founder of the Relatable app, I help people navigate their relationships confidently. As a marriage and family therapist (LMFT #83683), I focus on helping people build more fulfilling relationships through: - Attachment-based modalities, - Emotionally focused couples therapy (EFT), - Parenting skills, - Mindfulness, - Communication skills training, - Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). At our core, human beings rely on relationships with ourselves, the people, and the world around us. Meaningful, soul-enriching, and genuine relationships can often feel out of reach in today’s society, where loneliness is at an all-time high and leads to increased health problems. It’s no shock that loneliness is more harmful to people than obesity.I co-founded Relatable with my colleague, Jessica Montague, to help people feel connected through meaningful relationships. The app is set to launch in the fall of 2024 and seeks to improve how we relate to and treat one another in all aspects of life.Relatable uses bite-sized lessons with real-life applications to help people improve their relationships, put down their phones (gasp!), and practice what they’ve learned. It’s the TL;DR app with small, impactful doses of relationship practice you can immediately apply to the relationships in your life, whether that’s your family, friends, co-workers, or even your barista—anyone and everyone you connect with. I’m also an adjunct faculty member at the University of San Diego and The Wright Institute, where I teach Couples Therapy & Sexuality and Family Therapy. Give me a good wine club, Apple’s latest technology, and a 10k (that I’ll downgrade to a 5k) fun run, and I’m set. I live in San Diego, where I work and play with my husband and two little ones. Marriage And Family Therapist In Private Practice

Self-Employed

I specialize in helping clients navigate the many relationships in their lives. I offer a variety of approaches to therapy that help clients get where they want to be. I also work collaboratively with clients to make sure their needs are getting met and we are on track towards their goals. In working with couples, individuals, and families, my approach to therapy is based in attachment theory and integrative methods, the foundation of which includes feeling safe and heard in the therapy room. This means taking the time to understand clients and how we can work together to support their goals. I deeply value people’s individuality and utilize an approach that reflects that value. Infusing this integrative modality with creativity, humor, and care is at the heart of my practice. My practice is influenced by current research and training in: Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Mindfulness, Communication Skills Training, CBT, EMDR, and Parenting Skills, among other theories and modalities.Certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy Therapist and Supervisor

For licensed therapists who were seeking Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy certification I reviewed video tapes of sessions and provided support and consultation towards their certification.
