Working under the direction of the operations training department, I am working towards receiving my Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license through the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). This will consist of 15 months of in depth and specific classes, on the job training and simulator work along with a written and simulator test from the NRC. Upon completion of this course I will receive a SRO license and I will be authorized to operate and direct the operation of nuclear systems, nuclear safety-related systems, turbines generator systems, plant electrical distribution systems, and various plant auxiliary systems.

My role as a Nuclear Systems Operator is to perform servileness as well as operating, maintaining, and testing equipment, components, and systems associated with the pressurized water reactor (PWR) nuclear generating facility. This is all done in a safe manner to comply with the sites licensing, along with local and federal organizations.

As the First Assistant Engineer, I was a senior officer in charge of the engine room. I was in charge of the management and training of the junior officers and unlicensed personnel of the engine department. Along with managing personal, I was in charge of critical equipment on the ship, including the ships main engine, the ships emergency diesel generator, the ships oily water separator along with all deck equipment. I was also in charge of the record keeping of specific engine room logs and the ordering and organizing of the ships spare parts.

Alaska/ West Coast

As a Second Assistant Engineer I was a junior officer of the ships engine department. I worked directly under the First Assistant Engineer. I was in charge of the operation and maintenance of the ships boilers, fuel oil transfer and bunkering, and the ships four air compressors.

Gulf Of Mexico

As a Third Assistant Engineer, I was a junior officer on a petroleum tanker, transporting crude oil and clean product. I was in charge of of specific equipment, including three MAK 800KW generators, the ships potable water maker, the ships sewage treatment and all of the ships lube oil transfers and bunkering.
