In my role as an Intervenor I assist individuals that are deafblind to live full, engaging, and meaningful lives. I encourage them to achieve independence and facilitate their engagement with their environment. As the motto states, "Do with not for".

In my role as a Special Needs Worker, I assessed, planned, implemented, and evaluated programming for clients with intellectual and physical disabilities. I was responsible for program development and facilitation, medication administration, daily documentation, and personal care. With my consumers we worked on skills and interest development, community engagement, and social connections.

I have had to develop, implement and facilitate programs for a multitude of diverse clientele including seniors focused on enhancing physical and overall well-being. I am used to the APIE process as well as documentation with AcitvityPro and GRASP. I have had to coordinate all the different aspects of our services such as transportation, recreation and rehabilitative activities, program implementation and daily operation of the day program. I was required to maintain systematic and comprehensive records on cases, group work. I was required to maintain the management Information System as data base for clients, and when working at the St. Catharines General Hospital I was required to supervise volunteers. There were many times when I provided supervision and support for program workers, placement students and volunteers. In all of my experiences helping with administrative duties, coordinating and managing the overall operation of the facility was done by me taking initiative and was not required but viewed as quality work above and beyond my duties. When working in a multidisciplinary facilities integration with other teams is necessary for program development and expansion and I got along with all of my colleagues.
