Report to the Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. General Counsel in California. Have frequent contact with General Counsel on transactional and regulatory policy of the company. Collaborate on creating new legal policy for the newest aspects of the company’s operations. Review all contracts for East Coast operations and participate in negotiation of many of the more significant relationships.Acting as general counsel for two of those hospitals, East Orange General Hospital in New Jersey and Waterbury Hospital, in Connecticut. This entails frequent contact with senior management, including the CEOs at both institutions, to advise on all manner of matters business and physician relationships, as well as regulatory and business development issues.Hired and supervise a staff of two new paralegals to assist with transactional and contract work. “Dotted line” responsibility for local General Counsels at those East Coast institutions that have them.Responsible for all transactions involving physician acquisitions on the East Coast ranging from $200,000 to $1.9 Million.Serve on Board of Directors of four independent physician organizations and act as secretary.

Led staff of two directors and one administrator in a variety of responsibilities concerning building relationships with physician practices and health systems in the region.Marshalled relationships with regional hospitals and health care organizations designed to strengthen regional hospitals through their relationships with Penn and bring complex patients into the Penn health system downtown. These relationships span all areas of the health system but particularly focus on (i) cardiac care, (ii) neurosciences, and (iii) cancer.Led organization through acquisitions of physician practices in the region, including deal structuring and negotiations, as well as integration into Penn operations. The team accomplished approximately seven acquisitions in (i) medical oncology, (ii) cardiology, (iii) dermatology, and (iv) gastro-intestinal specialties.Led staff and support organization in creating specific programs focused on bringing business into the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Worked on developing a tele-stroke program that was disseminated to six area hospitals. Worked on developing a therapeutic hypothermia program designed to support regional hospitals in the care and treatment of post-cardiac arrest patients.
