Retail Analyst
• Perform daily, weekly and period-end financial analytics for the Retail Store using tools such s SAPBW, WFM, FIM, CAO, Khalix, RCS,SAP Profit Center Reporting and Peer to Peer Coordination. • Prepare period-end adjusting entries.• Ensured timely and accurate completion of store financial statements.• Variance analysis of assigned financial stores’ Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and financial statements.• Monitor shrink and margin detail.• Quick response to Store Franchisee or Store Manager queries and follows up on issues.• Coach Store Franchisees or Store Managers on interpretation of financial statements.• Complete Peer to Peer financial review for each Store and Store department (e.g. Meat, Deli, Produce, among others)• Prepare working papers to support assigned balance sheet accounts for Franchise and corporate stores.. • Identify and correct accounting systems posting errors such as weekly Billings, Payroll and Fixed Assets.• Prepare journal entries in order to ensure integrity of general ledger accounts• Reconcile grocery and commercial bakery physical inventory count results for assigned Retail Stores.• Prepare the Franchise Stores’ GST/HST returns.• Actively pursue continuous improvement opportunities in terms of systems and processes.• Identify possible theft or fraud for referral to Loss Prevention Department.• Liaise with and provide support to stores and other company departments on all accounting matters.• Work with National Accounting Services (NAS-Stellarton, NS) and General Accounting to ensure integrity of all applicable ongoing financial processes• Attend Buy & Sells • Visit assigned stores in the East District upon request and when necessary.• Remain knowledgeable and updated about the grocery industry.
