The Laboratory, a biotechnology spinout from a University of Hong Kong was founded by world-renowned clinician-scientists and supported by a multidisciplinary team of experts in microbiology, metagenomics, bioinformatics, disease biomarkers, food technology, clinical trials, IP development and commercialization. Our goal is to improve health in COVID-19, colorectal cancer, obesity, hyperlipidemia, autism, eczema, and hair loss.

Perform duties as needed to ensure that all documented procedures are implemented and maintained. Maintain the highest professional technical standards. Perform all work in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with all local and national work practice standards, such as ISO 17025, ISO 15189, AAALAC and GLP. Comply with local clinical governance and risk management. To ensure that quality control and assurance procedures are followed. Assist in the establishment, maintenance and review of the quality management system. Comply with the rules stipulated by the Data Protection Law to ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of the analysis results. Provide support to inexperienced colleagues on request. A team of more than 200 highly skilled and experienced employees provide services at any time.As the laboratory director, my responsibilities ensure: • The test system in the laboratory provides high-quality services in all aspects of test performance (ie, the pre-analysis, analysis and post-analysis stages of the test) and is suitable for patient population; • The physical and environmental conditions of the laboratory are appropriate and suitable for testing; • The employee’s environment is protected from physical, chemical and biological hazards and complies with safety and biological hazard requirements; • Conduct daily supervision of all testers and report test results, and provide on-site supervision when specific minimum-qualified testers perform high-complexity tests; • Ensure that the laboratory employs a sufficient number of appropriately educated, experienced and/or trained personnel who provide appropriate consultation, appropriate supervision, and accurate execution of tests and report test results in accordance with the prescribed written duties and responsibilities; • Review the new test procedure, include it in the procedure manual, and operate it by personnel; and • The responsibilities and obligations of each employee are specified in writing.
