Professor
CurrentProfessor of Astronomy in Steward Observatory researching the adaptation of optical and near-IR astronomical instrumentation and techniques to current Space Situational Awareness challenges. Current research programs include a comprehensive portfolio of photometric capabilities and instrumentation, including the 180 mm Pomenis Astrograph, and a unique three-color high speed simultaneous photometer. Both instruments are anticipated to reach "first-light" late calendar year 2017. The Pomenis Astrograph is already taking engineering data, and will be deployed to one our our mountaintop observatories shortly.
