About Eric Pollmann

I have extensive experience in implantable bioelectronic systems across a wide-array of modalities such as RF, optical, and ultrasound and spanning applications in minimally invasive neural interfaces for BCI applications to deep-body bioelectronic systems for precision sensing and therapeutics. My current position is a Senior R&D Electrical Systems Engineer at iota Biosciences (Aug 2023 - Present) focused on building the next generation of minimally invasive diagnostic sensors and therapeutics based on ultrasound power and communication. Previously, I was at Columbia University (Aug 2018 - May 2023), where I received the PhD in Electrical Engineering for my work in "Implantable Optoelectronics for Neural Interfaces". During this time, I designed and engineered the full (electronics, optics, and bio) system to demonstrate the first *subdural* CMOS optical probe (SCOPe) for bidirectional neural interfacing in mouse and nonhuman primates.
