Came into proofreading as a fluke, seeking employment to keep me afloat while I got my 2D animator career off the ground. Turned out, I was so good at proofreading it became my career. Started out over twenty years ago, just checking copy that was given to me via paper printouts. Then, my bosses started asking me to check bleeds, overprint/KO, ink station order, etc. Then the Digital Age came along, and I started proofing online with programs like Esko, DocuProof (later Global Vision), Adobe Acrobat, and Excel.
