I am responsible for the Southeast Region (NC, SC, GA, AL, MS and LA).Provide risk management solutions for insured clients through conducting hazard recognition surveys, management consultations and providing access to industry leading vendor resources. Develop targeted Service Plans for large accounts to create change in client's safety culture and improve or augment risk management and loss control in regards to their unique exposures.Assist Marketing with risk management recommendations and proposals for prospective clients and attend Product Fairs, Conventions and other Marketing events to help promote PHLY Risk Management Services capabilities. Provide agency support to help demonstrate the valuable differences between PHLY and the competition. Train Agents on using the PHLY website and various Risk Management topics, resources, and services.

Conduct Property and Operational Surveys to identify hazards and determine appropriateness of current controls and make recommendations where controls need improvement. Assist current clients with developing and implementing various risk management policies and procedures, including assisting with safety meetings and training. Stay up to date with changes in rules and regulations set by OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, NFPA and other regulatory agencies. Conduct safety meetings and training presentations for employees, associations, and Marketing meetings. Work closely with Marketing and Underwriting to help write, retain and monitor profitable business.

Build strong business relationships with agents in assigned fields and to those who call in with questions regarding the underwriting appetite of the company.Review new business applications, midterm MVR reports, claims and other referred policies to determine if risk is acceptable based on underwriting guidelines and state regulations.Communicate all underwriting decisions to the agent and improve the agent’s understanding of the company’s appetite for risk, including training the agent on products and processes.Work with Product Management, Reunderwriting, Legal and agencies to help roll out new product initiatives and assist with agent rehabilitation.Mentor new employees, provide training articles for bi-monthly newsletter.Promotion to Underwriter II designation within a year of employment due to outstanding quality and production results.

Ownership of claim file from assignment to closure.Determine liability through thorough investigation including obtaining recorded statements, review of police reports and scene investigations.Determine if coverage should be afforded by review and interpretation of the policy contract and the facts of the loss.Estimate cost of repairs and negotiate repair costs with body shops.Handle total loss process from designation to negotiations to disposal of salvage.Evaluate the value of minor to moderate injury claims and negotiate with claimant or attorney to settlement
