Eric Schaeffer is a seasoned attorney/family office general counsel and senior executive who for 10 years of his 35+ year legal career practiced exclusively in the single-family office space not only in a legal capacity as General Counsel but also in a leadership, strategic, management, and operational capacity. Eric served as President, General Counsel and as a Board member of Capital Technologies, Inc. from January 2010 until November 2019, managing all facets of a large, complex, and dynamic single-family office based in Houston, Texas. He also served as President, General Counsel, Chief Strategy Officer and Board Member Houston Healthspan Innovation Group, LLC/Black Beret Life Sciences, LLC. Mr. Schaeffer’s extensive business law practice includes the areas of corporate and partnership law, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, financing transactions, licensing transactions, and a myriad of other business transactions. In addition to representing established corporate clients, Mr. Schaeffer is particularly attuned to the needs of the entrepreneur. His considerable experience includes assisting companies in a variety of industries and businesses, including supply-chain IT, IT consulting, insurance brokerage, stem cell therapeutics, medical device, nutraceuticals, consumer packaged goods, hospitality, manufacturing, scrap and demolition, and telecommunications. Mr. Schaeffer has served in the capacity of “virtual" in-house/general counsel for many of his clients from their inception until their exit. His senior executive experience also gives him critical insight to the practical business needs of his clients. He earned his law degree fromuu the University of Cincinnati College of Law and received a B.A. in History from Miami University.
