I am an IT professional with many years of experienced in SMB / Enterprise and Cloud. In my current role, I serve as a systems administrator working with all the following: Azure, AWS, Terraform, Ansible, Microsoft Client/Server OS, Active Directory (AD), Group Policy Objects (GPO), Microsoft SQL Server, VMWare, Backups, switching infrastructure, routing, vLANs, Storage Area Network (SAN), Antivirus, Firewalls, software deployment and patching, data migration, and systems documentationI like to approach technology from the perspective of identifying business problems, and finding the right solution to meet that business need. I find too many times where IT professionals are just following the latest in technology trends and finding a business need that can be used to justify the tech. This is putting the cart before the horse in my opinion. By looking to the business process and finding the gaps that technology can address, the solution should be a better fit.
