Duggan Manufacturing50150 Ryan Rd, Shelby Twp., Mi 48317586-254-7400Years employed: 2001-2006 • I started as a laborer, sweeping floors and cleaning. • From there I moved into the shipping and receiving department, where I logged parts, made deliveries, and unloaded trucks. After 1 year I moved into the machine shop department. I was given the task of designing fixtures for the 5-axis laser tables. The fixtures need to be quick-loading, but also able to maintain tolerances from part to part. My designs consisted of magnetic ball bearings, pressed into the end of an alum post that is screwed down to a base plate. The locations of the ball bearings were then designed into the tooling that stamped the parts. This made for quick load and unload on the 5-axis lasers. I believe my fixture design is still being used today at Duggan. • I trained to operate a Bridgeport, a manual lathe, and surface grinders. After about 1 year in the machine shop, I was promoted to the CNC department working 2nd shift.• I ran 3 Fadal 3-axis machines• I was responsible for all my own setups on the machine.• I was responsible for setting tool lengths, and preforming cutter blends on finish tools• Also, I programmed all my machines with MasterCamAfter 1 year of working 2nd shit I was promoted to 1st CNC manager and head programmer.I was now in charge of the following:• All CNC programming for 6, 3-axis Fadal, 2, 3-axis Hass, and 1 Toro 5-axis machines.• All programs were run with tool changes and programmed to run unattended.• I was also responsible for all 3 shifts and 8 CNC operators.• I was in charge of ordering the correct tooling need to machine the jobs we had and ones that were coming, while staying on budget.• I would cross reference all data to the customer supplied GD&T. If there were difference in the data, from the provided prints, I would reach out to the customer to see how they wanted me to move forward. If changes needed to be made to the data.
