I started Black Swamp Percussion in Bowling Green, Oh, in 1995. The business grew out of a lifelong hobby of making musical instruments. In 1997 I relocated to Holland, Michigan, and in the years since we have grown to become one of the most recognized and respected brands in percussion manufacturing. We have a worldwide dealer network, and our instruments are played by the top musicians in the greatest bands and orchestras in the world.I also founded Drum Foundry in 2005, which is a business that serves the drum building community. We offer unique products and services to a large range of builders, from the hobbyist to other large drum and percussion manufacturers.Black Swamp and Drum Foundry also leverages our skilled staff and specially developed machinery to provide OEM services to other companies. Some of our skills include steam bent solid shells, veneering, wood finishing, engraving, and highly accurate CNC drilling of drum shells.I am available for consulting services to help small manufacturers increase their efficiency in manufacturing. I have made or designed most of the special machines that we use to increase productivity and quality in our percussion products. However it's our skilled staff that is the heart of our business and that which I'm most proud of.
