After a long and wonderful career in the non-profit sector -- most of those years in conservation and the last 15 devoted to conservation finance and investment -- I have retired and taken on specific consulting projects for The Paulson Institute and other clients on finance-related topics. In particular, I am focusing on a major project in China to help advance development of conservation finance and market-based ecological compensation programs to support China's efforts to protect and restore their natural resources. My overall career spans 40 years, largely engaged in executive leadership and management, with specialized expertise in finance, strategy-setting and resource development. In the realm of conservation finance, I have worked on carbon finance, wetland and species banking, and protected area financing. As a point of reference, during my tenure at WWF, my team leveraged nearly $400 Million in new revenue for conservation through debt for nature swaps, carbon projects, innovative banking and investment initiatives, and conservation trust funds. My leadership experience encompassed all facets of setting strategic direction and goals, conceptualizing new programs, mentoring and leading staff, and securing and managing financial resources.
