As principal of Good Karma Investments, Eric is always looking for new concepts and/or existing socially responsible startups with one common objective - to do good by doing good. His newest venture, 911fosterpets.com, teams him up with his former partner and founder of Petfinder, Betsy Saul. Together, they are on a mission to help urgent pets facing euthanasia find temporary foster homes and rescue groups on a national scale. A few companies that Eric has been involved with include PetsIncredible/Petfinder/Petvideo (sold to Discovery Communications/Animal Planet), Healthslate, and Good Karma Homes. His portfolio expands over a number of industries including technology, media, financial and retail. Eric Theis’ background is that of an experienced “new media” entrepreneur and financial services professional. After working for large “Fortune 500” companies for many years, including a 15 year career at Bank of America and Morgan Stanley, Eric, a long time pet parent and volunteer at his local animal shelter, founded PetsIncredible with Sam Means in 2004 in order to bring high quality pet parenting content to other new and prospective pet parents.In this new venture, Eric established a number of strategic partnerships with the industry’s elite organizations, while also developing the company’s internal sales and distribution divisions. Shortly after the creation of PetsIncredible, Eric and Sam co-founded a complimentary online entity called PetVideo.com, a joint venture with the founders of petfinder.com, the world’s most popular pet-related web property. PetsIncredible’s list of clients included major advertisers such as Publix, Proctor & Gamble, Colgate Palmolive, Bayer, and Arm & Hammer. After building the organizations into the premier pet related video content companies, PetsIncredible and Petvideo were sold to Discovery Communications, an Advertising Age “Top Ten New Media Deal of the Year” (2006), at which time Eric became a Senior Vice President until his departure in 2008. Eric’s creation of the PetsIncredible DVD content and Petvideo has reached over 10 million families in the form of DVDs, and millions more online. While at Discovery, Eric focused on working with the digital and new media teams until his departure in December of 2008. During this time, Eric was responsible for overseeing the production, sales, and daily operations of a specialized unit of the New Media division, Animal Planet Pet Video.

At Morgan Stanley, Eric worked with private individuals in Investment Management.

Starting as a part-time teller while attending college, Eric moved up the ranks to becoming a Vice President managing over $200 million in private client assets before moving to Morgan Stanley.
