Role was to expand one existing account and grow new centers. Worked closely with internal partners to open 5 new center in 3 years. Key to growth was cultivating exceptional surgeons, and then doing extensive referral development work in the Parkinson's community. For two years I also promoted Intrathecal Baclofen Therapy for the treatment of Spasticity to PM&R physicians.Being part of a It was no easy task to create a market for a radically different approach to tremor therapy (DBS) as a replacement for long-standing ablative therapy. By delivering consistent and persistent education and product exposure to neurosurgeons in San Antonio, I was able to slowly shift the tide. I cultivated a surgeon in San Antonio, who only implanted one device in the first year. After trying a number of different approaches, I was finally able to cultivate this surgeon, and he has become the most prolific private practice DBS neurosurgeon in the country (recently completing his 800th procedure). As a result, I reached plan for 1998 is just nine months. • Created DBS implant centers in San Antonio, Austin, Temple, Harlingen, San Angelo, and El Paso, Texas. • The awards I received included one for showcasing the use and power of local media to drive DBS education and new patient growth, as well as recognition as RTG High Achiever of the Year in 2001.See less
