Provided statistical and error reporting to management. Saved approximately $100,000 per year in contract costs. Retirement and Benefits - Planned and executed the migration of several complex databases from Novell/Oracle 8 to Linux/Oracle 10g. Developed disaster recovery plan, including geographically distributed backup systems. Retirement and Benefits - Managed a multi-year project to migrate division infrastructure (3 database servers, 2 web servers and 5 application servers) from Novell and Windows on heterogeneous hardware to Linux on rack mounted Dell servers. Retirement and Benefits - Long term project to improve the quality of the legislatively mandated "statement of account" that the division of Retirement and Benefits provides to the members of the retirement plans. Developed retirement eligibility estimation capability. Initially developed in VB .net and Oracle 8, migrated the system to Java and Oracle 9i, and ultimately to read data directly from the iSeries DB2/400 database that hosts the core retirement data. Developed threaded versions of the estimation and PDF statement file generation processes, quadrupling throughput. Finance - Developed web application to manage statewide training sessions provided by the Division of Finance. Provided complete administrative interface to add, reschedule, modify and delete sessions and session types and manage billing. Used LDAP Authentication.
