Hume Masterpanel manufactures and paints MDF door skins and metal door frames.My responsibilities where to supply efficient breakdown repairs necessary to keep the plant running with minimal downtime. Plant machines include 2 boilers, a timber chip refiner, a door skin press, a small water treatment plant, various conveyor belt and scissor lift systems, two brake presses, a turret punch, and a honeycomb machine. These machines are operated through variously sized VSD driven motors and contain a broad array of instruments including pressure, level and proximity sensors as well as flow meters and solenoids. The automation of the production lines are controlled by SCADA driven Siemens S5/S7 PLCsOther duties included:-Assisting other trades if the breakdown is not electrically related.-Coincide with production staff to provide planned electrical maintenance for all machinery.-Maintain of all other electrical items including lighting, test and tag, emergency light testing, and install new items when needed (power points or lighting)
