Overall responsibility and oversight for directing Amtrak resources in the procurement and deployment of the new Acela rolling stock acquisition project. The Team Leader chaired the project team and was responsible for delivery of the project to budget and program. Responsible for the management of all vehicle related engineering and quality assurance control programs for the new vehicles and components; quality control of vendor supplied equipment, components and materials; as well as quality control of internal functions. Directed and coordinated activities of various Amtrak organizations supporting the acquisition process (Mechanical, Rolling Stock Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Product Development, Policy & Development, Engineering/Infrastructure, Transportation, Quality Assurance, and Law).
