My 20+ year combined history in the marine industry, as well as the retail construction / restaurant industry, have allowed me to develop as a supervisor and trainer, well adept to multi-tasking. Both industries have many, dynamic situations to tackle daily, which can be difficult to replicate in other industries. Both have given me the ability to present myself with confidence, and not shy away from unfamiliarity. Prior to working in these industries, I gained many versatile skills working commercial and residential construction, manufacturing, production, customer service and artistic design.Having an ardent desire for new experiences and challenges, I find that I work well under pressure. I am an honest, fair individual who takes pride in recognizing and respecting individuals’ differences. I am an independent person, although I can work well with others. I am very receptive to outside opinion and expertise other than my own, to find solutions to problems I may not be able to immediately identify. I recognize that life does not have a boiler plate to follow, and being able to creatively adapt to its challenges, is something I feel confident with.My management style is one of positive reinforcement or encouragement rather than one of intimidation and threatening enforcement. Respect is gained through reciprocation. This is something I firmly believe in.
