As a Traffic Engineering Project Manager, I focus in the areas of traffic microsimulation modeling, forecasting, safety, travel demand modeling, and big data analytics. I work with an array of software packages including: ArcGIS Pro, VISSIM, IHSDM, HCS, Synchro, CUBE, TransCAD, VISUM, GNE, and QRS II. I develop custom scripts with R, Python, and VBA for the purposes of data exploration, statistical analysis, workflow automation, and model calibration. I participated in the early stages of the RADIUS (Rapid Analysis of Diversion in Urban Situations) model development. This modeling tool was created through a WisDOT partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The traffic modeling tool uses the QRS II travel demand model software. My work and responsibilities on this project included:- The development of an algorithm for incorporating actuated signals in macroscopic modeling- Analyzing Navteq (now INRIX) travel time database for use in origin-destination estimation (see thesis)- Obtaining signal timing information from municipalities and coding the signal timing data into the RADIUS model.
